Dalgleish Associates Ltd. was established in 1992 initially as a very specialist mineral planning consultancy, tackling quarrying and mining related developments. As increasing environmental legislation was established, the company was quick in keeping up, advising clients on environmental issues relating to their sites and any potential future issues resulting from new developments or extensions.
Over the past few years, the company has tackled some fairly long-term mineral planning applications, including containment landfill projects, surface stability issues from historical undermining, ecological and topographical quarry restoration designs, geotechnical stability reporting, and environmental auditing.
For a typical mineral planning application, the company will be involved at all stages of the planning process, from early site investigations, geological interpretation, design using both traditional methods and 3D computer modelling, early statutory consultee involvement, and the integrated project environmental management encompassing landscape and visual, noise, dust, blasting, ecological, hydrological, and hydrogeological issues.
Potential developments are visualised in 3D software, allowing clients, planning authorities, communities and other interested parties to hopefully gain a clearer picture of the projects, and to inform them in their environmental decision making.
The company in its present form is by necessity multi-disciplinary. We often network with numerous other small consultancies, which can provide very specialist areas of expertise, in order to fully address issues relating to the projects that we are involved in.
